About Tahoe Slipfence
Build a Better Fence with Slipfence
It all started in 2009 when Tom, while rebuilding his backyard fence, said to his neighbour:
"There has to be a better way to build a fence than replacing it every eight years."
That simple statement sparked the idea for a smarter, stronger, and longer-lasting fence system—and Slipfence was born.
The Problem with Wood Fencing
Tom’s research into the residential fencing market in Canada and the U.S. uncovered a common issue:
Wood fences begin to warp and lean after just 2–3 years and often need full replacement within 8–10 years.
The main culprit? The fence posts.
Metal posts used in chain-link fencing often remain straight for decades, while wood posts warp and rot over time. However, steel posts can rust, especially at ground level. This is where Slipfence found its solution—aluminum.
The Slipfence Solution
Slipfence combines the strength and longevity of aluminum with the warmth and privacy of wood or composite boards, creating a fence that looks great and lasts for decades.
How It Works:
-
Install aluminum posts just like traditional fence posts.
-
Attach the aluminum rails or channels.
-
Slip in your boards—wood, composite, vinyl, or even deck boards.
If a board becomes damaged or weathered over time, simply slip it out and replace it. The aluminum frame stays strong and secure, reducing the need for major repairs or replacements.
Designed for DIYers and Pros
Slipfence was created with ease of installation in mind. Homeowners can install it themselves, or contractors can complete projects faster and more efficiently.
We recommend having a professional set the posts in concrete for maximum stability—but the rest of the installation is simple and straightforward.
